Director of Product Management
 
Location: Santa Clara, California

Overview:
The Director of Product Management for Data Robotics is the expert for all of the company’s products, and will be the primary driver and resource for the rest of the organization as it relates to the company’s products. This person will have a deep mastery of market requirements, product strategy, the technology foundation for all products, industry and technology trends and the competitive environment. This role will be responsible for understanding and communicating the value proposition of the products, and will be expected to participate in executive briefings. The Director of Product Management for Data Robotics is expected to be a working manager while leading the group, participating in meeting planning and execution, development of product requirement documentation (PRD), and be completely immersed in development. A key component of this role is the ability to work jointly with Engineering and Product Marketing, as well as to manage cross departmental activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting the creative vision of the company founder and translating this vision into highly successful products
  • End to end ownership of the company’s products from creative vision to end of life
  • Product positioning
  • PRD creation and management
  • Process development as it relates to Product Management and cross functional activities
  • Roadmap planning and communication
  • Product pricing and margin analysis
  • Competitive analysis
  • Product training (Support, Sales, others as required)
  • Program reviews to update ExecStaff on the status of all programs, including assessment of risk factors impacting the expected product launch
  • Departmental budgeting
  • Weekly departmental updates
  • Other duties as required

Job Specifications/Requirements:

  • Strong technical background
  • Proven track record implementing PM processes
  • Experienced with product internationalization & localization (software and hardware)
  • Proven ability to lead a team
  • Highly adept at working through others
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional working teams
  • Strong process focus
  • Excellent writing skills
